What is Trustees?

As the Class of 2022 Trustees, our aim is to foster community amongst our peers and bridge the gap between UVA students and the broader Charlottesville area. We achieve this by hosting engaging events both on and off-Grounds, providing opportunities to serve and give back in meaningful ways, and executing University-wide initiatives like Lighting of the Lawn and the Valedictory Exercises in accessible, inclusive ways that support all members of the Class of 2022.

Our core values are uplifting underrepresented communities through collaboration with a diverse network of CIOs and student organizations that represent all facets of our University community.

We have expanded the role of Class Council to include acting on social issues and student concerns which is a new outward direction for an organization traditionally known as an event planning council.

Our goal is to continue these efforts and expand our outreach by seeking out opportunities to listen, rather than standing by and waiting for students to reach out to us with concerns. By constantly asking who our events and initiatives are benefiting, we use our resources efficiently and, hopefully, serve students in the areas in which they need the most support.

Our council is made up of an amazing network of individuals who belong to a myriad of communities across Grounds. Trustees work in the following committees led by Committee Chairs who remain open to collaboration and communication with members of the UVA community. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out the any members of our Executive Board. Their contact information can be found on the “Executive Board” page.

Best,
Fourth Year Trustees
